4 Years Old!
Today is Darcy's fourth birthday. We can't believe it. It sounds cliche, but really, where has the time gone?
We're so proud of Darcy and the little person she's becoming. She loves princesses, Dora, playing with her friends and drawing pictures, among many other things. She is very active and loves playing outside and riding her bike. She can't read yet, but she has countless books memorized and likes to do "pretend reading" to herself and Wesley all the time. Her favourite author is Robert Munsch (who she's going to go see for her birthday with Auntie Stef in a couple of weeks!). She loves to eat spaghetti and pork chops (not at the same time) and she just generally loves being silly. Darcy is a great big sister and always wants to help with Wesley and gives him hugs and kisses all the time.
One of my favourite things is that Darcy is very affectionate. She is constantly giving us spontaneous hugs and kisses or out of the blue saying, "Mommy, I love you." I especially love it when she does that when we're in a store or something and you can hear the reactions of the people around us. So sweet.
We listen to a local radio show every morning and Darcy listens and often comments on what they're talking about. They announce birthdays every day so we sent in her birthday for them to announce today. She almost jumped out of her skin when they said her name, she was so excited.
We're not sure what we're doing to celebrate today but we're having a party tomorrow with her friends and my side of the family. We'll celebrate with the Titcombes in a couple of weeks when they come to visit.
